Greater Noida. Galgotias University organised a cultural programme to mark 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram, celebrating its composer Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, its historical significance and its role in shaping India's national consciousness. The occasion also marked 20 years of Ten News Network.

Addressing the gathering, MP from Gautam Budh Nagar Mahesh Sharma said, "Vande Mataram is not merely a song; it is the voice of India's soul. It united the nation during the freedom struggle and continues to inspire the youth today." He urged students to internalise the spirit of national symbols in their lives.

Dr Dhruv Galgotia said that Vande Mataram symbolises India's cultural soul and unity beyond linguistic and regional diversity, adding that Galgotias University aims to instil values, culture and national responsibility alongside academic excellence.

The programme began with the collective rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by Ganesh Vandana and Saraswati Vandana. Cultural performances included tabla recital, an Odissi dance presentation and a Kathak performance by renowned dancer Dr Kalpna Bhushan.
